Why do you have to be cleared for work?

Working in health and social care demands a high level of responsibility and trust. Our team need to make sure you possess the right behaviours and attitudes necessary for the job. The clearance process ensures that you will align with the industry’s code of conduct, whilst having the correct documents to work in the UK.

What documents will you need?

  1. Identification: Just like any job, you will need to provide proof of identity through documents such as a passport or driving license.
  2. Proof of address: Submit a recent utility bill or bank statement to verify your current address.
  3. DBS: You need to provide an up to date DBS. This is a background check that allows our team to learn of any criminal history. This must be carried out on anyone who will work with children or vulnerable adults, to ensure the service users safety.
  4. Qualifications & Certificates: Present relevant certificates.
  5. References: Prospero Health & Social Care require 6 months previous experience. You will need up to date references from your previous employer to validate your work history, skills, and character.

How does the process work?

  1. Registry: Start by registering online, following the steps.
  2. Document verification: Our dedicated compliance team will review your submitted documents to ensure they align with the necessary standards.
  3. Face to face interview: If your application meets criteria, you will be invited to an interview.
  4. Clearance approval: Once you have successfully completed the process, you’ll receive clearance to work in the UK! Our team will then guide you through the next steps.

What is the Code of Conduct?

It is also important to be aware of the Health & Social Care Code of Conduct. It serves as a guiding compass for professionals in the field, outlining behaviours, attitudes, and standards of conduct. These set of qualities are looked for by our team when recruiting healthcare workers. By adhering to the care certificate code, you can elevate your career in healthcare, providing support to service users.
