Job description

Are you a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated individual with a genuine desire to make a difference in someone’s life? We are looking for a Support Worker to provide personal care and assistance to a wheelchair-bound lady in her own home.

About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting a lady with complex needs and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You will provide person-centred care and support, helping with daily activities, personal care, moving and handling, and medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care routines (e.g., bathing, dressing, and grooming).
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support, maintaining a positive and respectful environment.
  • Drive the service user’s car (manual UK driving licence essential) to appointments, outings, and activities.
  • Provide assistance with mobility and moving and handling, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Administer prescribed medication, as required, following care plan guidelines.
  • Support with domestic tasks and maintaining a clean, organised living space.
  • Work as part of an experienced, professional team to ensure high-quality care is provided at all times.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Clean, full UK Manual Driving Licence (essential).
  • Previous experience working with individuals with complex needs and EBD.
  • Knowledge of moving and handling techniques.
  • Medication administration training (or willingness to complete).
  • Ability to be positive, supportive, and patient, with a strong commitment to high standards of care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A compassionate and understanding attitude, with excellent communication skills.

Working Environment:

  • A friendly, supportive environment working with an experienced care team.
  • Opportunity to make a significant difference in the life of an individual.
  • Dogs are present at the property, so comfort with animals is important.

If you’re passionate about making a positive impact and are looking for a rewarding role where you can help someone live independently in their own home, we would love to hear from you!
