Care Assistant

1. Long Days: 8:00am – 8:00pm (£16 per hour)
2. Sleep-In Shifts: 8:00pm – 8:00am (£10 per hour)
3. Location: Home-based with community activities

About the Individual

1. 33-year-old female with a partial amputation
2. Uses an electric wheelchair
3. May present challenging behaviour – requires calm, patient support
4. Dog-friendly home – lives with a Golden Retriever and a puppy

Main Responsibilities

1. Provide personal care and mobility assistance (including hoisting)
2. Support with cooking, cleaning, and household tasks
3. Accompany to appointments, shopping, and community activities
4. Drive the client’s adapted disability vehicle
5. Encourage independence, dignity, and wellbeing

Requirements

1. Previous care experience preferred (training provided if needed)
2. Confident using hoists and manual handling equipment
3. Full UK driving licence (essential)
4. Comfortable around dogs
5. Reliable, compassionate, and professional
