Child Support Worker Role – Lancashire

Job Description

For this job role you will be working with children between the ages of 11-18. For this role, you will need to have a good attention to detail, writing detailed notes about the young service users’ emotions, interactions with colleagues/family members, conversations in person and on the phone, food diaries and the daily routines. The role will require you to partake in activities with the young person and helping to manage the YP’s money, ensuring receipts are kept for each transaction. You will need to be able to spot + report any safeguarding issues to help assist the YP’s development and keep them on track. The role will deal with difficult behaviour, a range of mental health issues and disabilities so experience previous experience is essential. We will provide online e-learning training + TMVA training to help assist you de-escalate heightened situations.

Day shifts: 8am to 8pm.
Night shifts: 8pm to 8am.
Long Day sleep: 8am to 11pm + attached sleep in.

What you require:
Great problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt and act accordingly to situations.
A high level of patience and emotional resilience.
A non-judgmental attitude regardless of a person’s needs.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations.
Experience of working with children in the past in a similar setting.
The ability to keep up with changing standards and codes of conduct in the social care sector.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience as a child support worker, working with venerable and children with a variety of mental health issues
DBS check and all required checks as well as clean criminal record.
Preferable to be able to drive as locations can be spread out.
Preferable to have level 3 qualifications in relevant subject to health and social care.
