Prospero Health and Social Care, have a range of senior young adult and children support worker roles and varied shifts available in Humberside

About the service:

  • Supported living units, residential settings and other settings.
  • Supporting young people with a wide range learning disability, mental health, challenging behaviour. Child exploitation and adult exploitation
  • These roles are only suitable for people who has experience working with Adults and children with Challenging Behaviours, special needs and are vulnerable

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • As a senior Support Worker, you’ll deliver excellent care and support to the individuals’ specific needs daily. Providing practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve.
  • You must have experience running shifts, taking charge of plans.
  • You must be Available to work bank holidays & some weekends.
  • Maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.
  • Support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and washing.
  • Provide Daily Observations that are detailed and can be read and understood clearly.

You will need to show:

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain rapport with young people and their family or carer.
  • Calmness under pressure and when dealing with challenging or confrontational behaviour.
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • A good understanding of the challenges faced by the service users.
  • Emotional Resilience
  • Commitment to making a positive difference.
  • A positive, non-judgemental approach
  • Creating detailed observations

To be considered or this role you will need:

  • At least 6 Months work experience working with complex needs in the UK – Essential
  • 3 years of references without gaps – essential
  • An over sea’s police check if required.
  • A full driver’s licence – Preferable
  • Level 3-5 in Health and social care – preferable
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service as well as a clean criminal record.

Job Type

  • Full Time, Temporary Contract
  • Salary: £12.50 to £18 per hour Depending on Experience
  • Long days, Long day sleeps waking Nights
