We are currently looking to recruit Children Support Workers to join our team in the Winchester area. As a Children Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and their families while having the flexibility to work when you want to! You could be supporting children with a range of needs, including mental health issues, learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and acquired brain injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing support to children and their families in a variety of settings, including in the home, in health and social care settings, and out in the community.
- Developing and implementing individual care plans for each child, including goals and objectives for their development and well-being.
- Supporting children with a range of needs, including mental health issues, learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and acquired brain injuries.
- Building positive relationships with children, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
- Managing the well-being and behaviour of the children, ensuring that significant behavioural or physical occurrences are addressed and managed accordingly.
- Providing physical and emotional support, including helping with household tasks and personal care.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of the children’s progress and any incidents that may occur.
- Following all relevant policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
What We Need:
- A relevant professional qualification in Children Support Work, such as NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent. (Desirable)
- Experience working with children and families in a similar setting. (Essential)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt and act accordingly to situations.
- A high level of patience and emotional resilience.
- A non-judgemental attitude regardless of a person’s needs.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A valid DBS check and clean criminal record.
- A valid driving license and access to a vehicle. (Desirable)
