Job Title: Children Support Worker

Location: SO30 Hedge End

Earnings: £20,895, increasing after 3 months

Prospero Health and Social Care are supporting a provider of residential care for children and adults based in Southampton who are looking for a team of Children Support Workers to support children on a 1:1 basis.

Our client is a trusted and respected care provider based in Southampton, specialising in the care of children with a range of additional needs. They operate a 4-bedded home designed to cater to the unique requirements of children aged between 8 and 12, providing a safe and nurturing environment for their development and well-being. As a Children Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to provide 1:1 support to the children in our client’s care. Your role will focus on enhancing their quality of life by assisting with recreation activities and education, ensuring they receive the attention and care they deserve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised 1:1 support to children with learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities.
  • Assist in planning and organising recreational activities.
  • Support children in their educational pursuits.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure the holistic well-being of each child.

Shift Schedule:

  • Week 1: 3 long days
  • Week 2: 2 long days and 1 seven-hour shift
  • Week 3: 3 long days

Compensation:

  • Basic pay: £10.75 per hour
  • 2 paid sleeps per month at £68.15 per sleep

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Compassion and dedication to working with children with additional needs.
  • Experience supporting children.
  • Experience supporting people with learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
