Job Title: Childrens Support Worker (Learning Disabilities)
Hours: Part-time, Shift Work Available
Do you have a passion for helping children with learning disabilities reach their full potential? Are you compassionate, patient, and dedicated to making a positive difference? If so, we are looking for a Childrens Support Worker to join our team and provide essential care and support for children with learning disabilities.
The Role:
As a Childrens Support Worker for children with learning disabilities, you will play a key role in providing care, support, and encouragement to help children develop their potential. You will work with children who may have complex needs, supporting them in their daily routines and ensuring their safety and well-being. Responsibilities include:
· Assisting with educational activities and supporting children in developing key skills.
· Providing emotional support and promoting independence.
· Engaging children in recreational and social activities that enhance their quality of life.
· Working closely with families, schools, and other professionals to deliver consistent and holistic care.
· Managing challenging behaviours with a calm, positive approach.
· Conducting regular Key work sessions
Key Responsibilities:
· Developing positive relationships with children and fostering an environment of trust and support.
· Promoting and encouraging independence
· Observing and reporting on each childs progress and development.
· Working in collaboration with families and other professionals to provide a consistent approach to care.
· Ensuring that all activities promote the safety, health, and emotional well-being of the children.
Requirements:
· Must be able to provide 3 years professional references
· Must have an Enhanced Adult & Child DBS registered on the update service or be willing to process a new one with Prospero
· A minimum of 1 years UK experience working with children with learning disabilities or in a care/support setting.
· A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
· Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to child welfare.
· Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
