Prospero Health & Social Care are looking for Children Support Workers to engage in temporary contracts to deliver the very best standards and quality of care to Children and Young People with additional needs in the Southampton area.

This role will involve caring for these often-vulnerable individuals, assisting them with day-to-day tasks, and supporting them as and when required, providing a safe and nurturing environment for individuals.

You will implement care plans in collaboration with the team you are working with, support young people in developing their living skills and access education / therapy, promote positive behaviour and helping individuals to manage their emotions and behaviours effectively, and help build positive relationships with the individuals themselves, their families and other professionals working in care.

Placements Available

  • Support young people between the ages of 16 and 18 in supported accommodation.
  • Supporting OFSTED-registered children’s residential homes.
  • Respite care for an individual that needs support while a family needs to step away temporarily.
  • Support for children and young people who are homeless or on the edge of homelessness.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience in the UK care sector
  • Experience as a Support Worker with a focus on supporting individuals with mental health needs
  • Experience supporting children and young people in a professional environment (desired)
  • Driver with access to a vehicle
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. (Preferred)

  • Duration – Ongoing
  • Full time / Part time – Full Time with varied shift patterns to suit work / life balance.
  • Hours – Long Days, Waking Nights, and Sleep in shifts available.
