Job Role: Children’s Care Home Manager
Accountable To: Operations Director
Location: Mid Wales, located amidst the rolling Mid Wales countryside on the fringes of the beautiful Hafren Forest renowned for its scenery.
Salary: £35k to £39k Per Annum, Plus further incentives to discuss upon interview.
Registration Requirements: social care wales
Safeguarding: Registered with the DBS update Service.
Hours: FULL TIME – To provide on call support & cover additional hours according to the needs of the business
Clean Drivers Licence Essential.
Job Purpose & Responsibilities.
You will be responsible for running a 4 – 5 bedded children’s home that specialises in long term care and support for vulnerable children – boys and girls aged 8 to 19 years of age. You will be working and supporting children from a variety of backgrounds covering CSE, EBD, emotional and challenging behaviours.
As a care home manager you will be responsible for leading and managing the child care services delivered within the home.
Meeting the expectations in terms of our company policy standards and those set out by the Care Council for Wales and the Regulations for Registered Children’s Homes.
The key purpose is to lead and manage an excellent, integrated, ethical and inclusive service which meets the needs of individual children placed in our care, safeguards and promotes well-being and development of our service users and staff team.
Child Centred Care and Support
You are accountable for ensuring your own practice is child centred and leading and promoting this approach in the staff you manage.
Dignity and respect –
You must actively promote dignity and respect and challenge poor practice by staff or others.
Children and young people-
The seven Core Aims developed by Welsh Government summarise the UNCRC and form the basis for decisions on priorities and objectives nationally. They should also form the basis for decisions on strategy, service provision and practice. More recently has been the introduction and roll out of the Wellbeing Act 2014.
All children are individuals with their own needs–
Therefore they should have individual, meaningful, care, pathway, leaving care ,independence skills plans, and an allocated key worker. These should be reviewed an updated on a regular basis in collaboration with any professional third parties . Evidence or recorded outcomes is essential.
A flexible 360 degree approach that works with the whole child meeting their social, emotional and developmental needs. As manager you are wholly responsible for monitoring and seeing that these are in place, reviewed and updated accordingly.
