The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the overall management of our childcare facility, ensuring the delivery of outstanding care and education to children in our program. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated professional to contribute to the positive development of young minds in a stimulating and supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the day-to-day management of the childcare facility, working closely with the Manager to ensure smooth operations.
  2. Oversee and support a team of dedicated childcare professionals, providing guidance and mentoring as needed.
  3. Contribute to the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and activities that align with our educational philosophy.
  4. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, maintaining a safe and secure environment for children.
  5. Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a collaborative and supportive community.
  6. Assist in recruitment, training, and performance management of childcare staff.
  7. Act as a point of contact for parents, addressing their concerns and providing updates on their child’s progress.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience within EBD in a childcare setting, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
  2. Hold a relevant childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, CACHE Level 3, or equivalent).
  3. Strong understanding of child development and early years education principles.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Knowledge of relevant childcare regulations and standards.
  6. First Aid and Safeguarding certifications are desirable.

  • Substantial experience of working and engaging with young children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with teenagers and their families
  • Capable of dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Have an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willing to process an Enhances DBS through Prospero.
  • Be able to provide 5 years professional references
