Role: Children’s Support Worker
Location: Liverpool and surrounding areas
Pay: £15 – £20ph
Hours:
- Waking watch night shifts – 8pm to 8am
About the role
These roles will be working with children and young people with a range of different challenges. This can include emotional behavioural issues, mental health issues or learning difficulties. You will be required to have at least 1 year of UK experience working in a similar role. These positions are on a 2:1 + basis.
Duties include:
- Carry out essential regular checks on young people in their placements
- Follow procedures including reporting incidents and/or absconding to out of hours teams and emergency services.
- You will be required to ensure that our children and young people are provided with the highest quality of care and to assist them reaching their full potential.
- To ensure children’s safety and well-being is appropriately protected at all times.
- To promote education, independent living and maintain a healthy home environment.
- To provide detailed written notes for each shift.
- To professionally liaise with professionals.
- Uphold essential safeguarding.
- To effectively communicate with the service user and professionals
The young people involved in these placements can have a range of needs, including:
- Challenging & aggressive behaviour
- Learning disability
- Autistic Spectrum Condition
- ADHD
- Personality Disorder
- Self-Injury
- Mental health diagnosis
- Victims of the range of abuses
- Inappropriate behaviours
Criteria for these roles are:
- Child and Adult DBS – on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Previous Experience in a similar role (1 year UK experience).
- References covering the last 3 years
