Prospero Health and Social Care are looking for a qualified and competent Registered Manager for a solo occupancy children’s home in Tiverton in Devon.This home is set up to support Carers, families and children with complex needs, learning difficulties, and ASD.

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Children’s Home Registered Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our solo home for young people with complex needs, learning difficulties and autism in a 2-week short break home. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of care and support are provided to the young person in our care, and will work closely with a range of professionals to ensure that their needs are met.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the children’s home, including budgeting, staffing, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Work closely with the young person in our care to develop and implement a personalized support plan that meets their complex health needs and autism
  • Liaise with external professionals, including health and social care workers, to coordinate the young person’s care and support
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff to ensure that the highest standards of care are maintained
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed in a timely and thorough manner
  • Contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures to ensure that the children’s home operates effectively and in line with best practice

Essential requirements:

  • The Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent is an essential for this position, with the Level 5 in Leadership and Management
  • Proven experience as a Children’s Home Manager or as a Deputy Manager
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people, staff, and external professionals
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and delegate effectively
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice in relation to children’s homes and care for young people with complex health needs, learning difficulties, and autism
