Role: Registered Manager
Salary: Up to GBP60,000.00 per year
Job Type: Full-time permanent decision

A cosy childrens residential home in Chorlton is opening up an exciting vacancy in search of a new registered manger for the home. If you are looking for new inviting environment or perhaps even looking to step up in a new challenge from a deputy position, this could be for you. This home supports children and young people and provides a safe place for them to build confidence, establish relationships and enhance their social and emotional skills.

The essential requirements needed to apply for this role:
– NVQ 3- Level 3 Diploma (QCF) qualified in Children and Young Peoples workforce (or equivalent)
– Level 5 diploma in leadership & management in residential childcare- England (or equivalent). If not already completed, must be willing to complete.
-Within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children.
– Worked for at least one year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role.
– Driving license required

Some key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
– Overseeing and auditing of day-to-day paperwork systems within the home.
– Implementation of new systems to support the needs of the young people within the home and support team to understand/ complete these.
– Attend/ represent the home at relevant meetings for the young people, then taking and producing meeting minutes.
– Complete and ultimately finalise/ sign off audits of incidents within the home and carry out debriefs with staff and young people.
– Responsible in maintaining financial records within the home.
– Ensure that records in the home are stored and held in a manner which is compliant with GDPR 2018 regulations.
– Immediately report any unsafe practices- share concerns with the Responsible individual & outside agencies as required.

Some key leadership expectations include but are not limited to:
– Be an effective decision maker when faced with difficult and unexpected situations and lead a team to also be able to do this.
– Lead team meetings/ senior meetings.
– Be a strong & dedicated leader of the home, ensuring that the home is Ofsted compliant and then lead Ofsted inspections.
– Support at least monthly visits from the Regulation 44 visitor, make systems accessible to them and complete the actions given, in the actioned timescales.
