Overview of duties

-Ensuring the home is a safe and nourishing environment for the young people. Encouraging young people with the ongoing engagement with education, celebrating their success, ensuring young peoples voices are involved with all aspects of their care and support and this documented.
– Ensure that the young people have access to a wide range of activities within the local area and further, in line with their interests and hobbies.
-Maintaining accurate GDPR compliant reporting for the home to include Incident reporting and reflection with staff and residents, finances,
– Adapting and implementing new systems to support the young people within the home.
-Running/Attending regular meetings to review young peoples progress and documenting these.
– Ensuring a robust safeguarding policy, engaging with outside agencies if concerns are raised
– Ensuring the companies ethos runs through all aspects of the home
-Encouragement for the young people to attend education and review strategies of how we are supporting this.
– Ensure that the young peoples achievements are celebrated.
– Be a voice for our children and ensure that their views, wishes and feelings are documented throughout our systems within the home and shared where required.
– Ensure that the young people have access to a wide range of activities within the local area and further, in line with their interests and hobbies.
-Promote that the staff make strong and positive relationships with the young people, this supports safeguarding within our home.

Leadership and management/ other expectations
– Engaging with with Ofsted registration process
– Managing difficult situations decisively.
– Supervision and appraisal of staff all documented and actions followed up on
– Holding team meetings
– Managing the staffing team to ensure understanding of their roles in relation to nurturing the young people
– Maintaining and improving the standards of the home in line with Ofsted guidelines
– Supporting Reg 44 visits and ensuring the home and all systems are up to date and accessible
– Ensuring the staffing team have a strong understanding of company policy and feel comfortable feeding back with improvements
– Be available to support the company growth plans
– Leading interviewing and recruitment plans
– Attend all and any training put on within the company as required
– Confidentiality is maintained within the home and code of conduct is adhered to.
-To share the on-call system
Qualifications & experience
– NVQ 3- Level 3 Diploma (QCF) qualified in Children and Young Peoples workforce (or equivalent)
– Level 5 diploma in leadership & management in residential childcare- England (or equivalent). If not already completed, must be willing to complete.
-Within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children.
-Worked for at least one year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £60,000.00 per year
