Children’s Residential Support Worker – Manchester

Prospero Health and Social Care are looking for Residential Support Worker’s across Manchester to join our team on a temporary basis to provide support to children and young people, ages 10-17 years, who have complex needs, challenging and emotional behaviours. As a Residential Support Worker, you will focus on building trusting relationships and providing stability for the young people. You will be working in a residential service which provides homes for these young people, not just places to live.

The Residential Support Worker role will involve:

• Encouraging daily routines and independence
• Helping with a balanced healthy diet and exercise
• Helping find interests and take them on activities
• Promoting education
• Positive impact on YP and helping them build positive relationships
• Day-to-day cleaning, laundry and washing, providing nutritious meals

Prospero are looking for Support Workers who are:

• Passionate about helping and working with young people
• Comfortable dealing with or learning to deal with challenging behaviour in a number of different ways and techniques
• Able to demonstrate de-escalation techniques
• Emotionally resilient
• Confident with being able to write reports and paper work

What we need to register you:

• 6-12 months relevant experience within this role or similar
• A full child and adult DBS on the update service, or willing to obtain one.
• A full UK driver’s license is preferred, but not essential.
• Must be able to effectively communicate and build relationships with young people
