Role: Children’s Support Worker (Crisis Support)

Are you looking to continue your rewarding journey as a support worker? Here at Prospero Health and Social Care, we have a range of shifts and duties you may be interested in. We provide crisis support to vulnerable children and young people, which can range from babies to teenagers all over the Midlands (East and West).

The children/young people we support can have a range of needs, including:

  • Challenging & aggressive behaviour
  • Learning disabilities
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder
  • ADHD
  • Personality Disorder
  • Self-harm
  • Physical disabilities

Support Worker duties will include:

  • Ensuring that children and young people are provided with the highest quality of care possible and to assist them reaching their full potential.
  • Ensuring children’s safety and well-being is always protected.
  • Enabling clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to enjoy a range of food and support them to buy their food and necessities.
  • Ensuring that children are protected during supervised contact sessions, intervening where required and facilitating contacts which safeguard the child from inappropriate behaviour.
  • Providing formal, evidential reports to inform decision making on the future care arrangements of individual children.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and flexible support workers to join our fast-growing team.

The criteria for our support workers are:

  • Child and Adult DBS – on the update service (desirable)
  • Previous UK Experience in a similar role (at least 12 months)
  • UK references covering the last 3 years minimum
  • NVQ Level 3 in health and social care or equivalent (desirable)
  • Driver (desirable) – due to taking children/Young people on activities

Pay is dependent on experience and the complexity of the person you are supporting (Typically £15-£18 per hour).
