Prospero Health & Social Care are recruiting experienced Children’s Residential Crisis Support Workers to support vulnerable children and young people across Bristol and the surrounding areas.

We partner with Local Authorities, residential childcare providers, supported accommodation services and specialist care organisations, delivering both planned and emergency support for young people with complex emotional, behavioural and social care needs.

Whether you’re supporting a young person in a residential children’s home, helping to prevent a placement breakdown through intensive 2:1 support, or assisting a young person to access education and community activities, you’ll play a vital role in helping them achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

As a Children’s Residential Crisis Support Worker, you will:

• Support children and young people within residential, supported accommodation and community settings
• Build positive, professional relationships and act as a positive role model
• Promote independence, confidence and life skills
• Support education, appointments and meaningful activities
• Manage challenging behaviours safely and effectively
• Follow safeguarding procedures and risk management plans
• Complete accurate records, reports and handovers
• Work closely with Local Authorities, social workers and multidisciplinary teams

What We’re Looking For

• Experience within residential childcare, supported accommodation, youth work or similar settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A resilient, compassionate and professional approach
• Flexibility to work long days, waking nights, sleep-ins and weekends
• Full UK driving licence preferred

Desirable

• Team Teach, MAPA or equivalent restraint training
• Experience supporting young people with EBD, SEMH, Autism or complex needs
• Previous experience within crisis intervention or emergency support services
