Prospero Health and Social Care have a range of crisis intervention support worker roles available within Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas.
These roles will be suitable for candidates who have substantial experience working with vulnerable teenagers, who have experienced trauma-related and mental health issues, challenging behaviours, and emotional behavioural difficulties. Your experience and support will be influential in developing and contributing towards positive outcomes to help shape the future of the young people you will be supporting.
Main duties and responsibilities of a Crisis Intervention Support Worker:
- Provide immediate support during crisis, utilising trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
- Develop and implement behaviour support plans and behaviour management strategies.
- Ensuring the young person’s safety and well-being is always protected.
- Uphold essential safeguarding.
- Providing daily observations and reporting that are accurate and well detailed.
- Advocate for adolescents and their families to ensure access to appropriate services; including mental health resources.
- Support the young people in all aspects of their lives such as educational pursuits, hobbies and activities.
- Dealing with young people with medium to high-risk support.
- Support service users with preparation of meals, personal hygiene, cleaning and laundry – maintaining a healthy home environment.
- Maintaining effective communication and liaison with service users, families and professionals.
Criteria for these roles are:
- Previous experience in a similar role working with young people (9-12 months UK experience).
- Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service, or willingness to obtain a new one through Prospero Health and Social Care.
- Willingness to attend essential training (regular free TMVA training available)
- References covering the last 3 years of employment.
- Business insured driver – preferred but not essential.
