Job description

Role: Deputy Forensic Manager

Salary: £32,992 per annum plus pension and benefits

Location: Taunton, Somerset

Hours: A minimum of 40 hours per week

Job Purpose:

To assist in the management of a stable and effective project through the efficient, safe and caring delivery of the day-to-day care and supported housing services to progress our Business Plan and Mission; to manage risk and support clients to achieve crime free lives in line with Group plans, budgets and procedures and in support of Group values and our Christian Mission.

Responsibilities include:

Risk Management: To demonstrate Christian leadership in the assessment and management of risk including the operation of physical and situational security measures to control the level of risk posed to the public, staff and other clients and to liaise with other stakeholders as appropriate

Managing Challenging Behaviour: To maintain a clear and calm manner whilst managing client risk through assessment, planning, client knowledge and de escalation as required.

Statutory Agencies: To support statutory agencies in the monitoring of risk and other support/care or training factors and to write assessment reports and Care Plan pathways for the referrers.

Qualifications:

A Level 5 or equivalent qualification deemed relevant to the post eg in criminal Justice or other relevant professional qualifications

Knowledge/skills & abilities

Demonstrable experience of working in supported housing, care, criminal justice or voluntary sector,
and have a understanding of the Care Quality Commission, and Safeguarding regulatory requirements

Experience of Dual Diagnosis and Mentally Disordered client support

Good understanding of the issues affecting ex offenders/ substance misusers and motivated to help disadvantaged groups

Able to support, a staff team, enthusiasm and creativity to the development of the Project and motivate staff in line with values

Relate well to people of any background

Able to deal discretely and confidentially with delicate matters

Literate to write letters and reports

Numerate to complete statistical and financial returns

Familiar with word processing, spreadsheet, email and allied computer skills

To undertake and update all Group mandatory training requirements for the role. As part of
induction, it is mandatory that you successfully complete the Care Certificate normally within the first 12 weeks of employment.
