Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Luton | Full-time | £45,000 per annum + training & development + benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and experienced Deputy Manager to join a registered children’s home in Luton at a critical stage of improvement and cultural reset. The home is currently not supporting any placements and is undergoing significant redevelopment under new leadership.

Working closely with a newly appointed Registered Manager and supported by an external Quality Assurance Consultant, you’ll play a central role in building a safe, therapeutic and child-focused environment from the ground up.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in all aspects of daily operations
  • Lead shifts and ensure safe, consistent care through effective staff oversight
  • Embed safeguarding, routines, and a strong team culture
  • Contribute to supervision and development of the care team
  • Help prepare the home for inspection and future placements

What they’re looking for:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential); Level 5 or working towards it (desirable)
  • Proven experience as a Senior or Team Leader in a children’s residential setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and children’s regulations
  • Calm, dependable, and committed to high-quality, reflective practice
