Job Title: Deputy Manager Children’s Residential Care

Location: Waterlooville, Hampshire

Salary: £32,500 plus enhancements and sleep-ins

Prospero Health and Social Care are working with a residential childcare provider who are committed to providing the highest quality of care to children and young people with learning disabilities. We strive to create a safe, warm, and nurturing environment where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our residential home meets and exceeds regulatory standards and quality benchmarks. Your responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Registered Manager to maintain compliance with The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and other relevant legislation.
  • Providing leadership and stepping in for the Registered Manager when needed.
  • Safeguarding the well-being of the children and young people in our care.
  • Leading, managing, and motivating our dedicated team to deliver exceptional care.
  • Managing staff performance and contributing to workforce development.
  • Monitoring and enhancing the home’s facilities, resources, and practices through our Quality Assurance Process.
  • Ingraining best practices across the team

Required Qualifications and Skills:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare or, be open to working towards it
  • Experience working with children and young people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.
  • Strong leadership skills and effective communication, both written and verbal.
  • Diligence, enthusiasm, and a passion for your work.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence.

This role involves working full-time, including night shifts and occasional office-based tasks with sleep-in responsibilities, compensated with an additional salary.
