ROLE:

As a Children’s support worker you will play a vital role in fostering a secure, caring, and nurturing environment for children and young adults who experience trauma or are facing difficult situations. With a holistic approach, you will collaborate with a team of professionals to build personalised care plans and provide comprehensive support for the young person in areas such as behaviour management, emotional well-being, education, and life skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Providing high quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting or similar (must have a minimum of 1 year UK experience)

. Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with the children, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.

. Creating a safe and welcoming environment that encourages positive development and growth for the young person.

. Must be able to respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols.

. Conduct key work sessions as a group or individually to support the young person with their emotional, social and behavioural needs.

. Maintain accurate and detailed records of each child’s progress and behaviour and complete reports and documentation in a timely manner.

. Liaise effectively with professionals who are involved in the child’s care

TO APPLY FOR THE ROLE:

. Must have at least one year’s UK experience working with young adults and children within a residential settings or similar setting.

. Have an accurate understanding of adolescent’s development, trauma informed care and evidence based interactions.

. Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

. Have an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willing to process a new one through Prospero

. Be able to provide an up-to-date CV that dates back to education with dates for all employment.

. Be able to provide 3 years professional references.
