Salary: £13.00 – £18.00 per hour

Prospero are looking for new and fresh faces to join our BANK staff. The roles available are to support vulnerable families or children who are in crisis. Ultimately working to safeguard children from any risk of potential harm while also implementing strategies to improve family life. Family based support roles will be offering support within the family home, observing and reporting in a professional format. These written observations will contribute to the assessment of future care arrangements for children. Respite roles will be out in the community with the young person or child, participating in activities they are interested in, building a positive, friendly relationship. Your role will involve:

  • Working on the front line with vulnerable children and families, promoting positive change and a safe lifestyle for families to remain together as a unit.
  • Using the goals/concerns/reasons of the local authorities involvement to guide your practise and where to support/observe.
  • Safeguarding and protecting vulnerable babies, children or young people from any risk of harm as priority and acknowledging your responsibility to raise any concerns correctly.
  • Making connections with children and families and build rapport whilst understanding professional boundaries.
  • Dealing with a range of individual needs such as mental health and challenging behaviour in both vulnerable adults and children.
  • Reporting correctly via written observations and being willing to liaise with other professionals if needed, to contribute to the assessment of families.
  • Understand the sensitive nature and complexities of some cases and carry out duties accordingly.

As an ideal candidate for this position, you will:

  • Have experience with children and young people or vulnerable adults in a similar capacity to the above.
  • Be able to be a supporting aid to the family/children whilst also observing objectively and accurately.
  • Have some understanding of children’s developmental stages and milestones.

To be considered with Prospero:

  • Must have a current DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
  • Desirable to drive or willing to travel locally.
  • Complete relevant compulsory E learning modules
  • Holding a Level 3 or equivalent in Children & Young People would be desirable but not essential.
