Family Support Worker

Prospero Health & Social Care are recruiting Family Support Workers. Providing support to young people in need across Hampshire.

About the service:

The role can vary from week to week dependent on the young person’s needs. This work can come in the form of outreach support for families and young people, work supporting children’s homes across Hampshire and supporting the provision of social services to families who need it. Being a Family Support Worker means providing vital support to families and young people who need the support and every day is different.

Shifts – Days, Nights, Long Days and sleeps, Waking Nights, Shifts lasting from 4 hours to 24 hours available

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Working with young people in a work environment with SEMH needs
• Supporting and supervising young people with challenging behaviour
• Building up relationships with families and young people to provide effective support
• Produce accurate case reports and correspondence

Experience, training, and qualifications:

• Substantial experience of working with and engaging with children and young people
• Capable of dealing with challenging behaviour
• Capable of good independent working
• A positive attitude
• PMVA / Teamteach / Other restraint training is beneficial

• You will have the right to work in the UK
• Have an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willing to process an Enhances DBS through Prospero.
• Be able to provide 3 years of references
• CV – Must have dates for all jobs and education with months and years worked
• At least one year of experience in supporting families and young people
