Occupational Therapist (Young People)

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team in Eastbourne in East Sussex, working with young people with mental health needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of therapeutic interventions and support to help young people develop the skills they need to manage their mental health and participate in daily life. Overall, we need a member of staff to compliment the clinical team. While we are primarily looking for Occupational Therapist, we would also like to speak to junior Psychologists and other clinicians looking to gain experience and expertise with a reputable care provider.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to identify the needs and goals of young people with mental health needs
• Develop and implement treatment plans to support the development of daily living skills, including self-care, communication, and social skills
• Work closely with other professionals and agencies to coordinate care and support for young people
• Provide one-to-one and group therapy sessions, as well as supporting young people in real-life activities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and progress

Essential qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Experience working with young people with mental health needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
