Location: Chester and surrounding area

Role Overview:

This company is seeking an experienced Operations Director & Responsible Individual to oversee and elevate the quality of their residential children’s homes. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure that children and young people receive the highest standard of care and support in line with Ofsted and CQC requirements. With a robust focus on safeguarding, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance, you’ll drive strategic initiatives and implement best practices to sustain positive outcomes in all settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the organisation’s residential services, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and maintain oversight of all safeguarding practices.
  • Engage with Ofsted and CQC to ensure homes are compliant and inspection-ready.
  • Oversee the financial performance of homes, ensuring services are delivered on budget and optimise resource allocation.
  • Supervise, support, and develop senior managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders to enhance service delivery and stability in placements.
  • Develop strategic business opportunities, contributing to business growth and service expansion.

Role Requirements:

  • A degree in Social Work or equivalent, with additional qualifications in leadership, quality management, or team supervision.
  • At least three years of senior management experience within the residential children’s care sector, ideally with previous RI responsibilities.
  • Proven expertise in the management of CQC and Ofsted-regulated homes.
  • Strong financial management and operational planning skills, with a history of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inter-agency collaboration, with a deep understanding of relevant statutory frameworks.
  • Strategic, innovative, and capable of driving impactful change across multi-site organisations.
