Join this forward-thinking organisation as a Personal Wellbeing Coach, delivering holistic support services to individuals referred by the Wales Probation Service. This is a chance to be part of a dynamic team that values lived experience, cultural competency, and a commitment to social justice.

You will be part of a multi-agency team providing person-centred support focusing on holistically addressing a range of personal wellbeing issues faced by service users referred by the Probation Service. Interventions will focus on addressing the following:

  • Support to reduce social isolation and improve decision-making/lifestyle choices
  • Support with emotional wellbeing
  • Provide through the gates support for those leaving prison.

You will be part of a comprehensive name of the team/function service delivering across the company that is mindful of, and promotes our Vision, Mission, Values, and strategic aims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support to individuals serving community sentences or leaving prison, focusing on emotional wellbeing, social inclusion, and family relationships.
  • Conduct assessments and create tailored action plans to help clients achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Deliver interventions in varied settings across Dyfed Powys, including group sessions and through-the-gate support.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency teams and external partners to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
  • Record activity and progress on CRM systems, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • Contribute to an out-of-hours helpline service and occasional Saturday drop-in sessions.

Experience:

  • Working with male adults in the criminal justice system, whether in prisons or the community.
  • Engaging with individuals with complex needs, including challenging behaviours and reluctance to engage.
  • Collaborative work with partner agencies as part of multi-agency teams.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong ability to assess needs and deliver tailored, trauma-informed support.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written reporting.
  • Resilience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office and virtual platforms like Teams or Zoom.
  • Awareness of safeguarding, diversity, and equality practices.
  • Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 in Advice & Guidance or equivalent qualification.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive induction and continuous professional development.
  • Ongoing supervision, reflective practice, and access to targeted learning opportunities.
  • Support towards achieving recognised professional qualifications.
  • A supportive and inclusive workplace environment where you can thrive.

We positively encourage applications if you have previously worked on a client-led support project, have had personal adverse experiences such as homelessness, substance misuse, debt, involvement with gangs etc. This will include experience of the criminal justice system, having served a prison sentence, or still be serving a prison sentence in a prison. You will need to demonstrate how your lived experience supports your ability to carry out the role to the benefit of the clients we work with.
