Job Title: Registered Manager Children’s Home
Location: Battle, TN33 Postcode
Salary: Base salary of £46,550 – £55,000 (Total Package up to £62,761 PA)
Prospero Health and Social Care are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Manager to join an excellent education and residential care provider dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to young individuals with autism and diverse needs. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a children’s home, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
Safeguarding:
- Serve as the Safeguarding Lead, ensuring adherence to child protection policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and take timely actions to mitigate potential risks.
- Foster a culture of openness and transparency for reporting concerns.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals involved in safeguarding efforts.
Meeting Children’s Needs:
- Create personalised plans for young people addressing various domains.
- Allocate Key Workers to provide individualized support.
- Maintain high-quality care standards and implement quality assurance measures.
- Involve young people in decision-making processes.
Developing Staff:
- Be involved in staff recruitment and retention, following safer recruitment principles.
- Develop a management style that empowers staff.
- Ensure proper staff induction and ongoing supervision.
- Address staff conduct and competence issues.
Effective Operation:
- Contribute to the company’s development by participating in leadership meetings.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels and manage staff hours effectively.
- Monitor budget allocation and financial efficiency.
- Ensure the facility’s safety, cleanliness, and maintenance.
Promoting Efficiency:
- Develop routines covering all aspects of childcare in collaboration with young people and staff.
- Make informed decisions under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Communicate and uphold cleanliness and orderliness standards.
- Plan staff rotas to meet children’s needs.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a senior role in a children’s home.
- Experience working with young people aged 8 – 18 with Autism and SEMH difficulties.
- Managerial experience for at least two years.
- Strong decision-making, literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Excellent knowledge of children’s rights, social care regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
