Registered Children’s Home Manager

Salary: £45K – £55K
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

This well-established provider of children’s residential care services is seeking a Registered Children’s Home Manager to oversee a nurturing and safe environment for children and young people, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards. This role is ideal for an experienced leader committed to improving the lives of children in care.

Role Overview:

As the Registered Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of an Ofsted-regulated children’s home, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety. This includes managing recruitment and retention strategies, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and providing a positive, supportive environment where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the residential home to provide a nurturing, child-centred environment.
  • Ensure compliance with children’s home regulations and quality standards.
  • Facilitate the development and wellbeing of children and young people, advocating for their educational and personal growth.
  • Implement and monitor effective administrative systems for casework, assessments, and records.
  • Lead a dedicated team, providing regular supervision, appraisals, and development opportunities.
  • Manage budgets, financial systems, and ensure the maintenance of the home to a high standard.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential care, with at least 2 years at a management level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Children’s Home Regulations (2015), child development, and therapeutic care models.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in a childcare setting, or willingness to attain this qualification.
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for young people.
