We are seeking a dynamic Registered Manager to lead our 1-bedded children’s home in the Southampton area. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing care services for children and a passion for improving the lives of young people. This home is rated Good overall with a RI in management and leadership.

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the children’s home, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures, the supervision of staff, and the maintenance of high standards of care. You will also be responsible for building strong relationships with local authorities and other stakeholders, and ensuring that the home is compliant with all relevant regulations and legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the team of staff at the children’s home, providing supervision and support as needed
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care for the children in our care
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities and other stakeholders, including parents and guardians, to ensure the best outcomes for the children
  • Ensure that the home is compliant with all relevant regulations and legislation, including the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the National Minimum Standards for Children’s Homes
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the home, including the management of budgets and resources
  • Conduct assessments of the children’s needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs
  • Provide leadership and support to the team, fostering a positive and inclusive culture

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant professional qualification i.e. the Level 5 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce, or an equivalent qualification
  • Extensive experience managing residential care for children and young people, including experience with OFSTED regulations and a clear knowledge of the statutory requirements of the home.
  • Experience managing a children’s home, either as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

This is a solo home with capacity to grow. For every new child that is placed in the home, the salary will increase to reflect the increased responsibilities for the Manager.
