Residential Childcare Worker

Prospero Health and Social Care are working with a residential childcare organisation with an excellent reputation based in Hampshire. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Residential Childcare Workers to join them, providing holistic support for young people with SEMH needs. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a key role in supporting teenagers aged between 11 and 18 of both sexes in a residential setting.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people in our care
• Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team
• Supporting young people in developing their independent living skills and accessing education and therapy
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting young people to manage their emotions and behaviours effectively
• Building positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals involved in their care

You will be working 2 long days and two afternoon shifts in a given week. Your exact shift patterns will be discussed during the interview process.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A minimum of 6 months experience working with young people with SEMH needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to remain calm and respond effectively to challenging behaviour
• A commitment to promoting the welfare and rights of young people
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work, including availability for sleep-in shifts
