Position: Residential Support Worker

Prospero Health and Social Care are working with new provider of residential care and therapeutic services for young people between the ages of 8 and 18 with SEMH needs. The home is nestled in the picturesque Swallowfield area of Berkshire, surrounded by enchanting rural landscapes and will care for up to 4 young people. The aim of the Support Worker is to create a nurturing environment where young individuals can thrive and develop their full potential.

Role and Responsibilities: As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in the lives of our young residents. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality therapeutic care, fostering a supportive environment, and assisting young individuals in their personal growth. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing emotional support and guidance to young people with SEMH needs.
  • Promoting independence and encouraging the development of essential life skills.
  • Assisting with daily routines, including personal care and household tasks.
  • Organising and participating in recreational activities, promoting social interaction and engagement.
  • Collaborating with a dedicated team to ensure the well-being and safety of residents.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • A level 3 qualification in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young individuals.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others.
  • A valid driver’s license is preferred due to the rural location.
