As a Senior Support Worker in a children’s home, you will lead by example, supporting both the care team and the young people in your care.

Your duties will include:

  • Leading shifts and supporting the care team

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people

  • Providing emotional and practical support in line with individual care plans

  • Supporting with education, routines, activities, and life skills

  • Managing incidents and challenging behaviour in a calm, professional manner

  • Keeping accurate records, reports, and risk assessments

  • Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are always followed

  • Working closely with families, social workers, and professionals

  • Supporting new staff and acting as a role model for best practice

What We’re Looking For:

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Minimum 6 months’ experience in a senior role in children’s care
✅ Strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management
✅ Ability to lead a shift and support junior staff
✅ Resilient, empathetic, and calm under pressure
✅ Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleeps (if required)
