Salary – £ 27,008 – £29,137 + Sleeping nights £50

Hours – Monday – Sunday Shift work Between 07:30 – 23:00 – 171 hours per month (average)

About the role – The aim of the role is to contribute to all aspects of the physical and emotional care of the child(ren) to promote their welfare whilst working in coalition with their family and other professionals. Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the unit, leading the team whilst providing supervision and guidance. Finally, to provide experience and expertise in working with children and young people at the home.

Qualifications and Experience required

Must hold Recognised Social Work Qualification (QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or NVQ Level III – Children and Young People (or a predecessor qualification).

Legislation, policy and practice in relation to working with children and young people.

Child development and the needs of children

Rights and responsibilities of individuals and how to develop and maintain structures and systems to support these.

Health and safety legislation, duties, and responsibilities

Must have at least a years’ experience of working with young people or groups of young people in a residential childcare setting.

Contributing to the development, implementation, and review of specific programmes for young people to meet their needs and circumstances.

Protecting children from abuse, participating in the evaluation of the risk of abuse to self or others.
