As part of our growing team, we are looking for passionate and skilled Social Workers to join our Family Assessment unit.
Job Purpose:
As a Social Worker specializing in Family Assessments, you will play a key role in evaluating the needs and safety of children and families. Your work will involve conducting comprehensive assessments, developing intervention plans, and working collaboratively with multi-agency teams to achieve the best outcomes for children. This is a critical role that requires empathy, excellent communication, and strong analytical skills to support families through challenging circumstances.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct thorough family assessments to evaluate risks, needs, and protective factors for children and families.
· Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans tailored to each family’s unique situation.
· Work closely with children, parents, and carers to ensure their views are heard and reflected in assessments.
· Collaborate with multi-agency teams, including schools, healthcare providers, and law enforcement, to deliver coordinated support.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory guidelines.
· Attend court hearings, where necessary, and provide professional evidence in family-related legal proceedings.
· Actively participate in supervision and ongoing professional development to ensure best practices are followed.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Essential: A degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England (or relevant regulatory body).
· Experience: Previous experience in family assessments or child protection is essential.
· Strong understanding of safeguarding policies, child protection legislation, and family law.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
· Ability to manage a complex and varied caseload, prioritizing tasks effectively under pressure.
