Job Title: Substance Abuse Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders and committed to making a positive impact in their lives. If you have a strong background in addiction counseling, crisis intervention, and client advocacy, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients struggling with substance abuse disorders.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine the needs and goals of each client.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, addressing their specific needs and circumstances.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and support groups focusing on topics such as relapse prevention, coping skills, and life skills development.
  • Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, medical professionals, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care and support to clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing emotional or behavioral crises.
  • Advocate for clients’ rights and access to resources within the community, including housing, employment, and healthcare services.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal standards in all interactions with clients and colleagues.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of substance abuse treatment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • Certification or licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor preferred.
  • Previous experience working in substance abuse treatment or related field strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in addiction treatment and recovery.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassion, empathy, and nonjudgmental attitude toward individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support services for individuals with substance abuse issues.
  • Willingness to adhere to agency policies and procedures, including confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
