As an Agency Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and elderly care within their own homes or care facilities. This is a flexible role with the opportunity to work a variety of shifts, providing you with the chance to make a real difference to those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and support to individuals, including assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support individuals in accessing social activities and promoting community engagement.
- Assist with medication administration and help ensure service users take their prescribed medications.
- Encourage and support the development of life skills and independence for those in care.
- Build strong relationships with individuals and ensure they feel valued and respected.
- Work collaboratively with other care professionals, including nurses and social workers, to meet the needs of individuals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with care plans and agency guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Support Worker or in a similar role is preferred.
- A compassionate and patient approach to care.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- A valid DBS check on the update service (or willing to obtain one).
- Flexible and reliable with the ability to work shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (preferred but not essential).
- Full UK driving license (desired, but not essential).
