Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Temporary Support Worker to join our team in Southampton, working with young people in care with complex needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing practical and emotional support to help young people develop the skills they need to manage their daily lives and reach their full potential. You will be working with a range of children in outreach and residential settings with focus on supporting young people in residential care.

In regard to the pay, this will be weighted depending on the distance between yourselves and the shift, the complexity of the package and the individuals that you are working with.

Key responsibilities:

• Support young people in their daily living activities, including personal care, communication, and social skills
• Assist young people in participating in educational and leisure activities
• Work closely with other professionals and agencies to coordinate care and support for young people
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of young people’s progress and needs
• Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans for young people

Essential qualifications and experience:

• Experience working with young people with complex needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
• At least 6 months experience in the UK care sector
• Experience working with young people with complex needs (desired)
