We are recruiting on behalf of a family run service that offers vulnerable young people and adults the opportunity to live independently but in a supported environment. They are passionate about providing the personal touch for the families they work with and the individuals they support as they endeavour to be more than just a support provider but to be an integral part of the journey for the people, we have the privilege to support.
The service offers the opportunity for individuals to live within supported accommodation, and to have the choice of staff support with maintaining welfare and choice, support with daily living skills, support with emotional needs, whilst maintaining a level of independence which meets the assessed needs of the individual. The individual will have the opportunity be supported with managing their own tenancy, finances, maintaining access to the community and building their future.
They want to offer a managed service that offers a future to those who need it and be able to see individuals gain self-respect, confidence, skills, education, and prospects that are comfortable and at a level that they feel is possible for them to manage independently and in the community.
Role Purpose
As a support worker you will be responsible for mentoring clients to assist with their development. You may often provide emotional support and assistance with particular problems the person is experiencing such as formal education, training, job search, mental health issues or disabilities. A young person’s support worker has the practical skills and knowledge to promote the well-being and protection needs of young people.
The role will be to deliver 1:1 and core support to support service users that could have a range of complex needs.
This role is about supporting and working towards becoming more independent and self-sufficient with a key focus on wellbeing and good mental health.
