We are actively looking for Support Workers to support a residential service and school that provides specialist support for children with autism and learning difficulties aged between 7 and 19. The service comprises both a residential home and school. This role will cover both the children’s day to day life and activities within the residential service as well as within the classroom to provide continuity to the young people’s lives, which is highly important to the students at the school.
The schools and residential services are both designed to provide specialist support for children and young people and to bring out the maximum potential of the young people they support and the role of the Support Worker is to help bring out the best in the children that you support.
Duties:
The children are supported to socialise and meet lifelong friends in a safe and nurturing environment. The approach blends a mixture of education and care with therapeutic support to focus directly on life, work and independence skills. There are qualified occupational therapists, a clinical psychologist and a team of trained carers and teachers to support both the students and to support the team to maximise the potential of the young people they care for.
