Support Worker

Key Responsibilities:
· Safely operate a vehicle to transport clients to and from appointments, social activities, educational programs, and other destinations.
· Assist clients with boarding and alighting from the vehicle, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
· Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
· Provide companionship and emotional support to clients during transportation and activities.
· Assist clients with mobility, including the use of wheelchairs, walkers, or other aids.
· Help clients with daily living activities, such as shopping, running errands, and attending appointments.
· Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of clients and the public.
· Conduct regular safety checks on the vehicle and report any concerns.
· Follow organisational policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding.
· Maintain accurate records of trips, client interactions, and any incidents or observations.
· Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare or support staff.
· Report any concerns regarding clients’ health or well-being to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements:
· Must have at least 1 year UK experience working with children (11 – 18 year olds)
· Must have overseas police check if you have not worked in the UK for longer than 5 years
· Excellent driving skills and knowledge of local roads and traffic laws.
· Have an enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered on the update service or willing to process a new one through Prospero Health and Social
· Capable of providing references covering the last 5 years.
