Do you have an interest in helping those with mental health needs and complex learning disabilities to live with less restriction and greater independence? Are you energetic and enthusiastic, with a desire to make a difference and enrich the lives of others?
We are recruiting on behalf of a trusted organisation that’s belief is that everyone entrusted to their care deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion and honesty. Working alongside their multi-disciplinary team, you will help to facilitate active rehabilitation through promoting programmes of education and leisure activities in the local communities.
The normal working week is 38.5 hours worked flexibly Monday to Sunday. Shifts will include days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

This particular service is based on the Recovery Model with high levels of relational security and strong multidisciplinary team (MDT) working to underpin our service users’ journeys to recovery. For some service users their journeys have begun from medium secure services whilst others step down to this one from either low security or locked rehabilitation.
Set in a quiet location in the small town of Porth, they have excellent access to local amenities including work opportunities, shops, libraries and cafes, whilst a wider range of facilities are on offer just a short distance away in the larger town of Pontypridd.
They have been recognised for the excellent work that they do with men, who in the past have found it all too easy to move through greater levels of security but have found it increasingly difficult to make the transition to step-down to community living.
In particular, this service has supported service users to gain paid employment and qualifications, develop their relationships, access continued therapy and to finally move onto greater independence with the least restrictions possible. Some service users have successfully moved to their own homes with minimal support from community teams, whilst others have moved forward to other types of supported living.
This service has proved a turning point for many of its service users in preventing revolving door admissions and reversing a pattern of repeated community breakdowns.
They are able to offer continuity of care for individuals stepping down from our own hospitals or provide MDT support to clients transferring from other services. This is critical to be able to address therapeutic, psychiatric and psychological needs speedily with cohesive MDT working within Ty Brynteg itself.
They offer six bedrooms plus a self-contained flat which promotes independent living within the service itself.
