With their clients coming from a variety of backgrounds this Social Care provider offers supports to both men and women with mental health needs, learning disabilities and acquired brain injury. Through purposely designed homes across South Wales and the South West, they offer a specialist residential service that provides step down and rehabilitation within a clinical care pathway.
As a Support Worker in one of their Penarth-based homes, you will be required to provide residential and therapeutic support to all clients, enabling them to gain greater independence to facilitate as easy a transition as possible. You will encourage our service users to become actively involved in the running of their home, as well as helping to manage weekly meetings to ensure our residents get the opportunity to feedback on service they receive. Working alongside their multi-disciplinary team, you will help to facilitate active rehabilitation through promoting programmes of education and leisure activities in the local communities.
The normal working week is 38.5 hours worked flexibly Monday to Sunday. Shifts will include days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

This service is an attractive three-storey house that provides 24 hour specialist support for up to six women who have a learning disability, mental health issue and/or personality disorder.
Furnished to a high standard, with most of the bedrooms en-suite, it is located in the thriving seaside town of Penarth. Access to both transport links and a wide range of local amenities is good, with Penarth just a five mile easy public transport journey away from Cardiff City Centre.
The staff team are experienced and have specialist training to deliver support and therapy to enable the service users to achieve meaningful individual outcomes.
Where appropriate service users will have an individual Positive Behavioural Support plan and access to in-house multi-disciplinary support, including Psychiatry, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetics, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy.
The aim of the service is to provide positive progression by supporting service users to be active participants in the local community through paid or voluntary work opportunities, encouraging participation in leisure and education activity, developing self-confidence, advocacy and independence and to manage complex behaviours and reduce vulnerability.
