Support Worker – Residential Childcare

Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 per year

Prospero Health and Social Care are recruiting for Support Workers for homes and services caring for children and young people in the New Forest area and the Salisbury area. The role of the Support Worker is to empower children and young people to maximise their potential by providing emotional support, mentoring, and to create an environment that is permissive for truly therapeutic care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent unconditional care for children ensuring that all of their needs are met.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable and clean environment for the children to prosper.
  • Record accurate statements and record data effectively to ensure that the standards are consistently high.
  • Facilitate activities that promote the development of young people and work towards being happy, fulfilled and confident individuals.
  • Foster a positive culture within the environment that you work.
  • Empower yourself, your colleagues and the children to maximise their potential.
  • Support or lead a wide range of activities and daily tasks as required.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Empathetic, resilient, and committed to being a positive role model.
  • Willingness to perform overnight sleep-ins as part of the role.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour
  • Flexibility to work on a residential care rota, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car, due to rural locations.
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable young people in a residential care, or an environment where you support vulnerable people.
