Prospero Health and Social Care are working with an established and reputable residential childcare provider based in the South who are looking for a new Team Leader to play a key role in running residential children’s home. You will play a crucial role in leading and managing a team of dedicated support staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care and support to children and young people. The role of the Team Leader is to work closely with the Registered Manager and other team leaders to create a nurturing and safe environment that promotes the personal and social development of our young people. This is for a company that specialises in supporting children between the ages of 6 and 12 who are affected by childhood trauma.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of support staff, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained at all times.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, conducting regular supervision and appraisals to monitor performance and identify areas for development.
  • Oversee and participate in the day-to-day running of the residential home, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for residents.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the Registered Manager and other professionals, ensuring individual needs and goals are met.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, promoting their independence, self-esteem, and personal development.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records and documentation, including incident reports, risk assessments, and key worker records.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar supervisory role within a residential childcare setting, either as a Support Worker or as a Senior
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices within the childcare sector.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • Competitive salary of between £25,700 – £27,500 plus a sleep-in allowance worth around £4,500 per annum.
