Position: Team Leader
Location: Southampton, SO19
Salary: Up to £28,080 per annum
Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week with some weekend work and sleep-ins
About the Role: As a Team Leader at our children’s residential home in Southampton, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people between the ages of 7 and 17 with SEMH needs. You will be responsible for leading a team of caring professionals, promoting a nurturing environment, and ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of the children in our care. The role of a Team Leader is to promote good practise and to lead on shifts in a children’s residential home.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate a team of support staff, ensuring they provide exceptional care to all children and young people.
- Collaborate with the Registered Manager to maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic living environment.
- Develop and implement care plans, tailored to individual needs, with a focus on positive outcomes and personal development.
- Provide support and guidance to staff in handling challenging behaviours and emotional difficulties.
- Liaise with external agencies, parents, and relevant stakeholders to ensure the best possible care for the children.
- Act as a role model for the team and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar leadership role within a children’s residential setting.
- Understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to apply appropriate strategies to support children’s development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent qualification in Social Care.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and sleep-ins.
