Therapeutic Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

Location: Shustoke and Kingsbury, Birmingham
Pay: £13.21-£14.90 per hour, depending on qualifications
Sleep-in payment: £57.31 per sleep-in
Hours: Full-time
Shift pattern: 08:00-23:00, followed by a sleep-in, working approximately one day on and two days off

We are recruiting compassionate and resilient Therapeutic Residential Support Workers to support young people living within established children’s homes in Shustoke and Kingsbury.

You will join a nurturing and structured residential environment supporting up to four young people. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands that behaviour is a form of communication and wants to help children and young people feel safe, develop confidence and work towards more independent futures.

Previous experience in a children’s residential home is welcomed but is not essential. We are also interested in candidates with experience supporting children or young people within education, youth work, care, mental health, learning disabilities, family support, mentoring or other relevant settings.

The role

As a Therapeutic Residential Support Worker, you will provide consistent, child-centred care to young people who may have experienced trauma, instability or difficulties within previous care environments.

The usual shift pattern is:

08:00-23:00
Followed by a sleep-in shift
Approximately one day on and two days off
Weekend and bank holiday work as part of the rota
Overtime may also be available

Flexibility and reliability are essential due to the nature of residential childcare.
